We do a careful, thorough eye exam in a friendly environment. Our exams are tailored to the individual child or adult. During our exam we check for color vision deficiencies and depth perception anomalies and peripheral vision defects. We also check for signs of Glaucoma, Cataracts, High blood pressure, diabetic changes and other systemic diseases. During our comprehensive examination we utilize instrumentation to examine both the inside and outside of the eyes. We also take special care to ensure that your prescription is accurate.

We provide contact lenses for patients who are nearsighted, farsighted, who have astigmatism and who need a correction for reading (Presbyopia). We utilize both basic and specialty daily wear and extended wear soft and gas permeable lenses to ensure your optimum vision and comfort.
With the latest materials and technology we are able to fit patients who have previously been unable to wear contact lenses.
We have many kinds of soft contact lenses. These include daily and extended wear contact lenses, toric lenses to correct astigmatism, bifocal contact lenses and lenses to change eye color. We are fortunate to have the first contact lens that has been approved by the FDA for patients with dry eyes.

We utilize the latest technology and lens materials to treat each individual cornea. These materials and design enable us to use gas permeable contact lenses that have been found to be effective in treating near sighted patients. By wearing these lenses an night the patient is often able to reduce their dependency on glasses and standard contact lenses during the day.
Specialty lenses also enable us to fit patients who have previously been unable to wear contact lenses.
Bifocal contact lenses enable patients who need a visual correction for reading to be able to function without their glasses.

We are able to provide you with almost any frame or lens type that is available. We have hundreds of frames to choose from. Our specialty frames include brand naves like Fendi, Candies, Ralph Lauren, Laura Ashley, Autoflex, Silhouette, Marchon and Maui Jims.
Our optical staff, under the guidance of our Optical Director, Ms. Carmen Berlanga is highly qualified to provide you with eyewear that will enhance your vision and appearance.

Our office provides surgical co-management services such as Cataract surgery, Laser surgery, Refractive surgery and Strabismic surgery in conjunction with local eye surgeons.

Additionally, we have working arrangements established with other specialized eyecare doctors to manage such conditions as retinal detachments, retinal tears and hemmorhages. We provide these services under a co-management program with affiliated doctors. You, the patient, benefit from the cooperative and combined efforts of doctors working together on your behalf.

Our office provides treatment of eye infections and eye injuries. Any eye emergency is taken very seriously and appointment will be scheduled as soon as possible. State of the art instrumentation enables us to examine the surface of the eye and the area around the eye for signs of infection or injury. After assessing the extent of the injury or infection, a treatment plan will be formulated and discussed with you.
Our office also provides services for the removal of corneal foreign bodies from the eye.

Dry eyes can be diagnosed by using dyes to observe the tear pattern through a biomicroscope or with other specialty testing. Treatment can include eye drops or punctal plugs.

We are also available to treat most eye diseases.

Many people with vision correction issues want to know if LASIK would be an option for them. It is our belief that when doctors work together for the benefit of our patients, the outcome and patient satisfaction from laser vision correction can be outstanding. Our office is affiliated with TLC Laser Eye Centers®, with whom we co-manage LASIK services. All of your primary care, such as the pre and post-operative care is performed in our office, while the ophthalmic surgery is performed at TLC. Seeing clearly is not enough. For many people, reading and hand-eye coordination tasks can be very difficult. The act of sight not only includes ones eyes, but it also includes the neurological activity that processes the visual information. Throwing a ball or skiing down a hill, is a learned activity; to do either well takes practice. Those who do it best are those who started learning at the earliest age. Sight plays an important role in the learning of these activities. Sight is the steering mechanism; it is the main activity that provides feedback regarding what really is happening. We provide Vision Therapy to help individuals learn how to process visual information and develop better hand-eye coordination skills.

People who have lost eyesight due to injuries or eye disease need special types of products to help them function as independently as possible. We offer a full range of these products through our office. Our paraoptometric staff is trained to demonstrate the use of some of these devices. They range all the way from a simple hand magnifier to a closed circuit TV system.

In addition, we can direct those who have low vision problems to products that will help them carry on the day-to-day tasks that they need to perform. In some cases we can set up a program for the low vision patient with the National Library of Congress to receive "books on tapes", which is a service for the blind.
